The 3M ESPE Elipar DeepCure-L is a cordless LED curing light purpose-built for reliable, deep polymerization of light-cured composites and cements in daily restorative work. It delivers a focused output of 1,470 mW/cm² through a single-wavelength LED (430–480nm), a design choice 3M made specifically to keep curing results consistent across different photoinitiator chemistries rather than relying on a broader, less predictable multi-wavelength spectrum.
Its 10mm light guide and optimized beam collimation are engineered for a uniform, cylindrical cure from the surface down to the bottom of the proximal box, helping compensate for slight hand movement or imperfect light positioning during a procedure — a common source of under-cured restorations in practice. Exposure is selectable at 5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds, plus a continuous 120-second mode and a 1-second tack-cure setting for temporary stabilization.
The “L” designation marks the lightweight plastic-housing version (around 180g) as opposed to the heavier stainless-steel DeepCure-S; the vent-free housing also allows use with barrier sleeves without blocking airflow.
