The ACTEON PSPIX Imaging Plate Scanner is a compact digital dental X-ray imaging system designed to simplify phosphor plate workflows in dental practices. Its small footprint allows the scanner to be positioned close to the treatment area, helping reduce the need to move between the operatory and a separate imaging room.
PSPIX uses photostimulable phosphor imaging plates (PSP) to capture intraoral X-ray images. When the plate is inserted into the scanner, the system automatically detects the plate size, scans the plate, optimizes the image, and transfers it to compatible imaging software. The plate is then automatically erased and ejected, preparing the system for the next scan.
ACTEON's FIBER2PIXEL® technology uses optical microfibers to guide photon emissions and is designed to provide high-contrast digital images for visualization of dental tissues. ACTEON describes a complete scan workflow of approximately 12 seconds, while its technical documentation specifies scanning times of approximately 1.6–2.7 seconds in fast mode and 2.1–3.6 seconds in high-definition mode, depending on plate size and workflow.
The system provides a stated resolution of 20 lp/mm and supports imaging plates in multiple sizes, from Size 0 through Size 4. This allows dental professionals to select an appropriate plate according to the patient's anatomy and the examination being performed.
With its integrated color touchscreen, automated workflow, Ethernet RJ-45 connection, and compact dimensions of approximately 154 x 204 x 193mm, PSPIX is designed to provide a practical digital radiography solution for modern dental practices. MedicalZenith supplies the ACTEON PSPIX to dental practices across Indonesia, with sourcing support and after-sales assistance.
This is frequently paired with iTero Lumina Intraoral Scanner – Advanced Digital Dental Scanner for Fast & Accurate 3D Imaging and NSK NLX Nano with M95L Handpieces for a more complete setup.
