The Formlabs Form 3+ is a professional-grade desktop stereolithography (SLA) 3D printer built on Formlabs' proprietary Low Force Stereolithography (LFS) technology, delivering exceptional print accuracy, consistency, and surface finish for dental and medical applications. Unlike traditional SLA systems that rely on aggressive peel forces, LFS technology uses a flexible tank and linear illumination system to gently separate each printed layer, resulting in smoother surfaces, finer feature resolution, and dramatically reduced print failures — even on delicate, high-precision geometries.
Form 3+ features an upgraded Light Processing Unit with a more powerful laser and refined optical path, enabling faster print speeds without sacrificing the layer-to-layer consistency Formlabs is known for. Its sealed resin cartridge system minimizes material waste, prevents resin contamination, and keeps the workspace clean, while the quick-release build platform and tank make swapping materials and starting new jobs effortless.
Compatible with Formlabs' extensive materials library — including a wide range of dental-specific and biocompatible resins for surgical guides, model printing, splints, dentures, and temporary crowns and bridges — Form 3+ integrates seamlessly with PreForm software for automated print preparation, as well as Form Wash and Form Cure for streamlined, automated post-processing. Whether adopting digital dentistry for the first time or scaling an existing lab workflow, the Form 3+ offers a reliable, cost-effective entry point into professional in-house 3D printing.
