The Omnicam's rounded, ergonomic handpiece captures continuous ColorStreaming video at roughly 18 images per second, recording both 2D and 3D data simultaneously — a first among intraoral cameras at the time of its release. Anti-shake processing automatically filters out substandard frames, while a uniform illumination field ensures consistent scan precision across half-arch and full-arch impressions.
The system clearly differentiates the preparation margin from surrounding gingiva in the resulting 3D model, supporting precise restoration design, and can determine tooth shade directly from the scan data.
